Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville

Now the premier backpacker party city in Cambodia, Sihanoukville is a fun place to spend a couple of days at. There are four main beaches: Independence, Otres, Ochheuteal and Serendipity; the latter being the most popular amongst backpackers. For quieter times, visit the islands off the coast.

Things to See & Do in Sihanoukville:

Lounge on the beaches:

There’s not really a lot to see in the town of Sihanoukville, people are usually here either for partying or the beaches. Otres Beach is probably the best if you’re looking to get away from it all.

Party:

Serendipity is home to a couple of famous backpacking party bars with many offering booze cruises and party boats as a side. Otres is chilled and much less commercial.

Scuba diving:

The islands around Sihanoukville have great visibility, coral, and fish. The PADI certified schools in the area offer a variety of different dive trips for one or more days.

Island Hop:

Take a boat ride from Sihanoukville to explore any one of the dozen gorgeous islands off shore. Most boat trips depart in the morning and can be booked from the guesthouses and travel agents in town. Mostly undeveloped and unspoiled traditional fishing villages and beaches await discovery!
