Sri Lanka Ill Back Soon

Sri Lanka Ill Back Soon

After the

amazing few days in Arugam Bay

, I made my way to Mirissa as I heard it was a good spot to grab some waves!

I ended up booking a place called

Hangover Hostels

for 2 days, which turned out to be an absolutely amazing idea!

From the moment I entered, I sensed that I was going to like my stay over here. The manager Max was the coolest guy and the hostel was managed insanely well.

Ac rooms with comfy beds with key card lockers with charging ports inside made it a definite win for someone with a lot of electronics like me. Facilities wise, it had to be one of the best hostels I have gone to in the Indian Subcontinent.

Mirissa doesn’t have a good beach to surf(for beginners) but for about 15 cents, we would take a bus to the nearby city Weligama, rent our boards and surf.

I booked my stay at the hostel for 2 days, but on the second evening as I was talking to the manager, he told me that they were looking for volunteers. I had always seen myself owning a hostel so I thought this would be a good way to learn, to get some experience for when I open a hostel.

So, as usual I extended my stay, it was a pretty nice experience, I would help out with check-ins and customer information and would also go out surfing every evening.

If in doubt? Paddle out 💙😝🏄#beginner

The vibe of the hostel was sic, they were a group of single travellers who had been staying there for about 2-3 weeks and whenever anyone came to the hostel, they always ended up extending as they loved the place and didn’t want to leave. Every evening we would go to Weligama for a surf and have game/movie nights once we were back.

I had planned to stay there for 2 days, but then again I never ever follow my plans and ended up spending over 20 days there. I would have stayed longer had I not booked my flight to Vietnam, oh well I am definitely going to be back in Sri Lanka soon.

It’s just a flight awayÂ

💙😝

I got addictive to surfing which I was in Sri Lanka, and surfed almost everyday, there’s just something about being out at sea that I love.

But a new chapter was going to begin. My “plan” is to spend the next 2 years travelling all of South East Asia, living in different parts and travelling the entire region over the span of 2 years, starting with Vietnam. I hadn’t been to any parts of South East Asia before so I was excited to be living there for the next couple of years.

Bye Sri Lanka 💙🏄 see you again soon! South East Asia here I come ✈️🚶
